Apple Strudel on the Weekend Diner

Apple Strudel

3 lb. red delicious apples (peeled shredded & squeezed out juice)

1 tsp. vanilla extract

½ lemon rind

Cinnamon (to taste)

1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs

After squeezing out juice combine vanilla, lemon rind and cinnamon mix well and put to the side

On clean cloth, lay fillo dough out one layer at a time

On each one spray butter spray and on every 1, 3 & 6 layer also sprinkle graham cracker crumbs

Spread about 1 1/3 cup apple mixture evenly about 1 inch from the side

Loosely roll the strudel and tuck each end

Brush with egg wash and bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown at 420 degrees

Slice and sprinkle with powdered sugar and cinnamon and enjoy
