BLACKSBURG, Va. -

Hokie Bugfest is a festival to promote the fun and excitement of the science of entomology and to celebrate the legacy of William Bradford Alwood - Virginia Tech's first entomologist.

The event happens on Saturday, October 19th, at the Inn at Virginia Tech from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Admission is FREE.

This outreach event is jointly hosted by the Virginia Tech Department of Entomology and Virginia 4-H.

Attendance has grown over the past two years of the Hokie Bugfest.

This event will again offer children an opportunity to earn the popular Junior Entomologist certificate this year.

There is special parking reserved for buses behind the Inn at Virginia Tech.

Other details are available on the website about the event, the schedule, parking and directions, and a list of sponsors.

Not only is WDBJ7 a sponsor of Hokie Bugfest, but you'll also get to meet chief meteorologist Robin Reed.
