The Coca-Cola bottling company that serves southwestern Virginia celebrated a 36,000 square foot expansion with a ribbon cutting Tuesday morning in Roanoke County.
Executives from Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated joined local leaders at the Roanoke Sales and Distribution Center on Integrity Drive.
Coca-Cola moved into the facility in 2009. The expansion allowed the transfer of 125 employees from the company's plant in downtown Roanoke, freeing space for manufacturing improvements there.
Headquartered in Charlotte, Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated is the nation's largest independent Coca-Cola bottler. The company employs 360 people in western Virginia.
