AMHERST, Va. -

Sheriff's deputies say a tractor trailer hauling saw dust "came apart" and crashed on Route 130.

The wreck happened around 9:35 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection with Route 29 Business.  Nearly four hours later, the westbound lanes of Route 130 were still closed.

The truck was headed from Albemarle County to Big Island.  Sheriff's office investigators say the trailer failed and came apart, spilling the load.  Crews have been working to clean up the mess.

The driver was charged with several equipment violations.
