Evington man dies after falling from Lynchburg construction site

An Evington man died Saturday after falling from a construction site in Lynchburg.
Donnie Lee Bryant Sr., who is the owner of D.L. Paint Contracting Company, fell approximately 40 to 50 feet from a construction site and died Saturday. Bryant was 63.
Bryant was painting at a job on Jefferson Street when he fell. His body was sent to the Medical Examiner’s office to see it any medical issues played a factor in the fall.
Here is the news release from the Lynchburg Police Department:
On 5/3/2014 at approximately 1131 hours the Lynchburg Police Department responded to 1301 Jefferson Street in reference to a subject who had fallen approximately 40 to 50 feet at a construction site. Upon the arrival of Officers on the scene the Lynchburg Fire Department was administering first aid to a w/m victim who was identified as 63 year old Donnie Lee Bryant Sr. of Evington VA. Bryant was transported to the Lynchburg General Hospital ER where he was pronounced dead. Mr. Bryant is the owner of D.L. Paint Contracting Company. The D.L. Paint Contracting Company was working at the job site (1301 Jefferson Street) as a sub- contractor for Jamerson Lewis Construction Company. This incident appears to be a construction accident and is being investigated by the Lynchburg Police Department, The Lynchburg Fire Department Inspections, and The Department of Labor and Industry Commonwealth of Virginia. Bryant’s body was sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine if any medical issues played a factor in the fall.
