Several kids were rescued from the daycare Wednesday as the floodwater rose.

ROANOKE, Va. -

Of all the flooding coverage we brought you Wednesday, the most viewed on our website was the swift water rescue at a Roanoke daycare.

No one was hurt. All the kids in the building were safely removed during the flooding.

The bad news is that the damage means the daycare will need a ton of financial help to stay open.

Folks who run the daycare say they stayed in the building as long as they could because it was the safest place. When the water kept rising they decided they needed to get the kids out.

There was very little incident during the rescue. Daycare organizers say many of the kids even enjoyed it.

Sheila and John Anderson, who run the daycare, say the next step is to just pick up the pieces from Wednesday’s flooding and just hope we don't see a repeat of that flooding Thursday.
