A generous donation to the Franklin County Humane Society is helping with the spaying and neutering of hundreds of cats.
The program is called Cat Dynasty/1001 Community Cats. The humane society says lots of kittens are born each year to outside cats. Many of them end up abandoned at dumpster or taken to shelter and pounds.
“The goal is to reduce the outside cat population and the number of kittens being born. Because it's far more than we can ever adopt out here,” said Franklin County Humane Society President Donna Essig.
The program will be free thanks to the president of a feline rescue group, who provided the donation.
