Henry County principal gets state honor

HENRY COUNTY, Va. -

One principal's unique plan for her school is now getting state wide recognition.

Gracie Agnew, principal at Magna Vista High School won the 2013 Outstanding High School Principal of Virginia.

The Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals gives out the award yearly.

Agnew urges teachers to use community resources in their classrooms.

She's also lead school improvements including renovations and outdoor classrooms.

State leaders say that's why she won the award.

Agnew is now in the running for the National Principal of the Year Award.
