Hundreds of out-of-state volunteers come to Roanoke for Catholic Heart Workcamp

Hundreds of out-of-state volunteers will put their summer vacation to good use this year by helping complete strangers. The best part is, they're helping right here in Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. -

For the summer of 2013, Catholic Heart Workcamp (CHWC) will volunteer in 50 different cities around the United States with more than 11,000 campers.

For the week of July 7 -14, more than 200 volunteers will be spending time in Roanoke, Virginia.

Campers will help out organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Feeding America Southwest Virginia, Rebuilding Together Roanoke, Ronald McDonald House and several others.

Roanoke Catholic School will house the campers who come from as far as Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
