A Bedford County family is looking for the right person to take over their successful winery

HUDDLESTON, Va. -

A Bedford County family is looking for the right person to take over their successful winery.

Savoy-Lee Winery is going on the auction block.  David Wood and his wife opened the business 13 years ago, but they've decided to sell.

David has a full-time job that keeps him on the road.  His wife owns a clothing boutique in downtown Lynchburg.

Even though the winery has been profitable, the Wood's felt it was time to move on.

"My doctor said I was one of three people she laid awake thinking about at night, so my wife made it a very simple decision and said this was one thing that needed to come off my plate," David Wood said.

Wood is hoping to get at least $450,000 for his 100-acre property, which is located on Johnson Mountain Road in Huddleston.

The winery was supposed to be auctioned Monday.  Because of icy weather, the sale has been postponed until next Monday, December 16 at 12:30 p.m.
