The Sheriff’s office in Isle of Wight County is seeking assistance in the investigation into a child abduction and sexual assault that took place on October 2.
An 11-year-old girl from Carrollton was abducted at about 8:00 a.m. on October 2. The suspect forced her into his vehicle, then drove her to two different locations where he sexually assaulted her. He then drove her back to the general area of the abduction and released her.
She called her parents who called for emergency services at 12:30 p.m. She was taken to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters for treatment.
She described her abductor as an older white man with blondish/gray beard, blonde hair, blue eyes, cut-off jean shorts, and tennis shoes. He was driving a light grey or silver 1995-2001 Chevrolet Cavalier.
One of the locations where the crime was committed has been identified. The second scene has not been located, but was described as an old, abandoned 2 story wood framed house. It had no shingles on the roof and was partially collapsing. An old sofa was visible through a collapsed wall. The home was located about 200 yards off the road, but can be seen from the paved road. There are discarded HVAC units in the yard.
Across the road from the abandoned house are newer homes. The closest is a well-kept 2 story house, white with red shutters and a gray roof. There is a new wooden fence around the back yard but no fencing in the front yard.
The location may be anywhere along the Route 13 corridor leading into North Carolina.
