Jury finds David Martinez guilty of second degree murder

ALLEGHANY CO., Va. -

A man in Covington will spend the next 25 years in prison for stabbing a woman to death in Alleghany County.

A jury found David Martinez guilty of second degree murder Thursday afternoon.

According to Alleghany County Sheriff's Office, Martinez killed Anita Forbes at the Holiday Inn Express last November.

The sheriff says Martinez stabbed Anita Bell Forbes at the Holiday Inn Express outside of Covington Thursday night.

Authorities in Alleghany County are investigating a deadly stabbing.

They received a call from the front desk at the Holiday Inn Express outside of Covington Thursday around 5:30 p.m.

The sheriff tells WDBJ7 that Nita Bell Forbes was found dead in the room. She had been stabbed.

An unidentified man had also been stabbed. He was taken to the hospital.
