Saturday, August 3
Surveillance video shows Alexis at the Liberty Gas Station in Lovingston off U.S. 29 around 7:15 p.m.

Monday, August 5 
Federal Bureau of Investigation, Virginia State Police and Nelson County Sheriff's Office announce in a press conference they are actively looking for the missing 17-year-old girl. Ground and air searches are conducted near the area where she was last seen as well as off Cannery Loop off U.S. 29.

Tuesday, August 6 
Murphy’s Nissan Maxima was discovered at the old Carmike Six Cinema near Charlottesville

Thursday, August 8
Hundreds of people braved the rain for a candlelight vigil to support Murphy’s family at the Nelson County High School football field Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, August 11
Authorities arrested Randy Taylor, 48, in connection with the disappearance of Alexis Murphy and charged with abduction.

FBI and other officials continue searching properties on Country Lane which is off U.S. 29 (Thomas Nelson Highway)

Monday, August 12
FBI and other officials hold press conference in Lovingston to confirm arrest.
