Heating assistance is offered in Roanoke

There is help available out there, especially with temperatures dipping into the lower thirties.


There is help available for people, who need assistance with their heating. Ram House will be helping with fuel assistance in a few weeks.

The Virginia Department of Social Services is also offering to help those in need. The Fuel Assistance Program assists with various types of energy sources. It includes electricity, natural and liquid propane gas, oil, kerosene, coal and wood.

To qualify for the assistance, the maximum gross monthly income for a one-person household cannot exceed $1,245. For a household of four, the maximum gross monthly income is $2,552.
