The family of a missing man says they fear the worst after his friend was found dead in a burned car earlier this month.

He usually had a light on in his mobile home just in sight of Polly Dodson, but earlier this month there was no light in Ricky Dodson's home.

Now he's missing and his family is worried he's dead too.

"Dad had called me Thursday morning and told me that he had a feeling that somebody was following him and Vicky. He cut it off real short, he didn't say anything else about it. He told me he loved me."

That was the last time Mandy Dodson heard from her dad Ricky Dodson. It was on October 3.

The Franklin County and Henry County Sheriff's Offices are working together to find Ricky Dodson.

Police say they believe he was one of the last people to see Vicky Purdy alive before her body was found in a burned-out car.

"When he left, he says, 'love you, see you later'. That was it. That was the last time I talked to him," said his mother, Polly Dodson, who then reported him missing the following Monday.

The day before Vicky Purdy's remains were found in a burned-out car in Franklin County. His family believe they were together.

"I think something happened to him," Polly Dodson said. "It just don't make no sense that he would not have got in touch with me."

It's been two weeks since Ricky's daughter and mother have heard from him, a long two weeks.

"After I heard about Vicky, it kind of made me feel like, maybe something happened to dad too. That maybe they just haven't found him yet. That maybe he was just put in a different location," Mandy Dodson said.

Officers are checking with friends and places Dodson visited often looking for any clues as to where he is.

Officers also haven't released Vicky Purdy's cause of death.
