Enjoying the arts and some beautiful scenery was on the agenda at today's Parks and Arts event at Mill Mountain Park.
All Parks and Arts events provide venues for local and regional artists, dancers, and musicians.
The events also focus on combining the outdoors with the arts, and promoting diverse cultures and historic resources.
Today's program included several local musicians and fun activities for the kids.
Visitors say sharing the arts and the outdoors with younger generations is important.
"The reason I moved back to Virginia was because I grew up in the mountains and I loved the hiking and the outdoors and so I want to teach my kid everything I learned in the outdoors,” Nate Harsteine said.
The next Parks and Arts event is July 20 in Eureka Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
