The North Cross School Swim team got a lesson of a lifetime. Olympic Gold medalist Ian Crocker was at the school's athletic center Saturday morning. He demonstrated some of his techniques on the popular water sport.
The team's coach says this is an opportunity for swimmers to learn what it takes to be at the highest level.
“Hopefully it gives them a little more motivation; inspires them. Ian came from a very small town, small area from swimming in Portland, Maine which isn't known for swimming. He told a story and made it kind of like anyone can make it to the Olympics if they work hard and want to,” said coach Greg Lake.
Crocker broke into the swimming scene in 2000, winning a gold medal at the Sydney Games.
