Any student can tell you, hands on learning is always best. A car dealership in Martinsville agrees.

Jim Mills Automotive near the Speedway is teaming with Patrick Henry Community College's Automotive program.

The dealership is allowing students to disassemble its cars then put them back together.

Students will get to understand the computer system of new cars that will act as simulators for broken ones.

"It's not just a city or locale advantage. It can stretch out to this particular student where they could receive a job offering anywhere in the United States. It's a need for automotive technicians and has been a need for 10, 15, 20 years," said Wes Mills, executive manager at Jim Mills Automotive.

This trains students for jobs like mechanics at car dealerships or in pit crews.
