A local agency that helps lost and unwanted animals -needs your help.
The Regional Center for Animal Control and Protection says it's in desperate need of volunteers.
For years, the pound came underfire for high euthanasia rates.
It recently came under new management and started doing adoptions on its own instead of relying on other area rescues.
The group hopes this will lower rates, but knows it needs the community's help.
"Volunteers are such a wonderful asset to the animals here. They can walk the animals. We have volunteers that photograph the animals. It's these photographs that bring attention to the animals and that's desperately needed," explains Executive Director David Flagler.
The center says having more volunteers will help it further its adoptions.
