Utilities have restored service to thousands of customers in Virginia who lost electricity during a winter storm.
As of Tuesday afternoon, about 9,600 customers are without electricity. That's down from about 114,000 on Monday.
Dominion Virginia Power reports about 6,500 outages, most of which are in Northern Virginia.
About 2,700 customers served by four electric cooperatives are without power.
Appalachian Power reports 380 outages in Southwest Virginia. The utility says wintry weather on Tuesday could cause additional outages and complicate efforts to restore power.

Power outages statewide on Monday topped 114,000. As of Tuesday morning, the number of outages is down to about 14,700.

As of 3:30 p.m., 221 Central Virginia Electric Cooperative members were still without power.
More than 7,000 Appalachian Power customers are without power Monday.
As of 11 a.m. Monday, 7,114 Appalachian Power customers were without power in Virginia. The highest total is in Campbell County (2,221).

As of 7 a.m., nearly 900 BARC customers were without power. Additionally, 1,189 Central Virginia Electric Cooperative members without power as of 11:45 a.m.
UPDATE: As of 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Appalachian Power is reporting that power has been restored to all customers in Tazewell County after many experienced outages earlier in the evening due to icy weather conditions.
As of 8:49 p.m., Appalachian Power is reporting that 963 customers in Tazewell County are without power due to icy weather conditions.
