The cold weather is keeping Western Virginia Water Authority busy at the intersection Hershberger Road and Peters Creek Road.
On Tuesday morning a water main broke, spewing water onto the roadways. Crews worked quickly to isolate the leak.
Western Virginia Water Authority says that the water was treated. It was from nearby Carvins Cove.
The break should not impact a large number of customers. They say at most, customer would see reduced water pressure. They hope to have the break completely repaired by midnight.
Traffic is reduced to one lane both ways on Hershberger Road. Crews have put salt down to prevent icing. The city believes below freezing temperatures may have cause the break.
