Navy SEAL makes trip to Roanoke to share story of survival

The Roanoke Regional Forum kicked off its fifth season with Marcus Luttrell.
Luttrell made the trip to Roanoke to share his story of survival at the Jefferson Center in downtown Roanoke.
Luttrell is a decorated Navy SEAL and the author of "Lone Survivor."
He shared his story as one of four Navy SEALs who journeyed into the mountainous border of Afghanistan and Pakistan on Operation Redwing Monday night.
Luttrell's story will hit the big screen in January 2014. Mark Wahlberg is slated to play Luttrell’s character in the movie.
The Roanoke Regional Forum is a series that encourages conversation among business, civic, and community leaders by attracting notable speakers to the region.
Monday night’s event was free to the public.
