Danville murder suspect arrested in Roanoke

DANVILLE, Va. -

A Danville murder suspect has been arrested in Roanoke.

33-year-old Harry Gladmon was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force on Thursday.

Gladmon is a suspect in the Sept. 30th stabbing death of Gilmore Cowan. Cowan was attacked by two masked men as he left his job at the Pure Gas Station on South Boston Road in East Danville.

Investigators say Gladmon had been living a transient life to avoid authorities. He was arrested while walking on Montrose Avenue in Roanoke. Gladmon was charged with first-degree murder and a probation violation out of North Carolina.

A man has been indicted on first degree murder charges for the September death of Gilmore Cowan.

A grand jury issued first degree murder indictments for Harry James Gladmon on November 7.

Cowan was killed as he left work at the Pure Gas Station on South Boston Road in East Danville. The chief of police told reporters in October police were looking for two men who were wearing Halloween masks during the incident.

Gladmon is still at large. Police say he is considered extremely dangerous, and anyone with information about his whereabouts should call 911 or contact Danville Crimestoppers at (434) 793-0000.

Danville police are asking for help locating a man they say is a person of interest in a September murder.

In a news release, the Danville Police Department states it's looking for Harry Gladmon from Caswell County, North Carolina. He's wanted for Probation Violation and may have had a part in the murder of Gilmore Cowan.
