Norfolk Southern's Locomotive shop celebrated two million consecutive hours without an injury Friday.
That dates all the way back to September 2007.
The men and women who work in the shop were treated to lunch.
A bell was made to honor the milestone and will be placed at a shrine in the middle of the factory floor.
Just two other shops in Norfolk Southern's history have made it to two million.
“Now Roanoke Locomotive Shop has achieved this illustrious safety performance. What this means is our people go home at the end of the day not suffering from pain or an injury,” locomotive shop manager Chuck Sloan said.
We got a rare glimpse inside the shop we haven't seen for years.
