50,000 people expected to celebrate scouting in the National 2013 Scout Jamboree

ROANOKE, Va. -

The National Scout Jamboree takes place July 15 - 24.

On Monday, July 15, scouts from the Blue Ridge Mountains Council will load up several buses at Valley View Mall and New River Valley Mall to head to the Jamboree in Mount Hope, West Virginia.

This event is expected to draw about 40,000 scouts, venturers, volunteers, and staff from all over the world.

For ten days, scouts learn skills in camping, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, climbing zip line, and much more.
