Virginia opens new state park
Virginia is opening its 36th state park.
More than 15-hundred acres along the James River, near Richmond, are now known as Powhatan State Park.
The land was originally part of a juvenile detention center. It was handed over to the Department of Conservation and Recreation 10 years ago.
The park will eventually include camping, cabins and other improvements. State money will help develop the property into an international mountain biking center.
