BLACKSBURG, Va. -

Riding a bicycle to class just got a little more convenient for Virginia Tech students.

New bike maintenance stations have been installed at three, highly traveled locations across campus. Students can access them for free.

Each features a tire pump, a rack to hang a bike, and tools to fix a flat tire or broken chain.

"This pump is really convenient for students at Virginia Tech because the campus is so huge that we need to ride a bike to class," bike rider Wen-Long, Tsui said.

The stations were purchased through a green grant by the Parking and Transportation Office to encourage self-sustainable living.

The stations cost about $100 each.
