Virginia Tech has upgraded the video boards inside Lane Stadium and Cassell Coliseum

BLACKSBURG, Va. -

Just in time for the first home game of the season, Hokie fans have a new upgraded videoboard at Lane Stadium.

Virginia Tech upgraded the existing video scoreboard structure in Lane Stadium with a high definition LED display.

The new videoboard is an outdoor LED video scoreboard system with 19mm pixel pitch Surface Mount Diode (SMD).

A new control system is now integrated with the videoboard , which is 48.2 feet high by 108.2 feet wide.

The new control system will allow stacks of real-time video and audio to be instantly displayed with game scores, news, statistics, replays, etc.

Cassell Coliseum has replaced both videoboards with new ones.

Both are three times larger than the old ones.
