Ways to save money on gas during hot summer months

AAA warns drivers that high heat can be an engine killer.
Roadside assistance calls increase by as much as 700 per day when temperatures rise 10 to 15 degrees.
Some tips to save on gas during hot summer months starts with your air conditioner.
Replace your cabin filter every year or 15,000 miles. AAA says a dirty filter could restrict air flow which force the A/C to work harder.
Open the windows and doors to your vehicle at start up to let the hot air out quickly.
Start in "Max" or "Rec": Setting the control to "maximum" or re-circulate" upon entering the vehicle will prevent hot air from outside getting in.
Avoid driving during the heat of the day. Instead, drive earlier in the morning and after sun down.
