Alleghany vs. Northside

ROANOKE CO., Va. -

Northside has already clinched a playoff spot, but Burt Torrence's team has some much bigger goals. Alleghany was in town at Jim Hickam Field and with a win over the Mountaineers, the Vikings could then focus on next week's battle royal with Lord Botetourt.

It was homecoming night for the Vikings and Anna Kale was named queen.

Quarterback Dom Dunnaville was suspended for the first half tonight, so back-up quarterback Will Culicerto was on in relief and tossed two TD passes, including one to Harold Buckner just before the half.

The defense then stepped up. Chance Hall and his friends came up with a sack on Alleghany quarterback Nick Ferrell, and Northside led 14-zip at the break.

Dunnaville was back in to start the third and he was doing his thing, as he connected with Jaylen Hill on the middle screen for a gain of 24 before being knocked out of bounds, converting a 3rd-and-16 putting Northside in business at the 17-yard-line.

Dunnaville then rolled to his left but couldn't find a receiver, so he went back to his right before firing a dart to Nathan Arnold. He made a great grab for the touchdown. Northside beats Alleghany 35-7, to stay unbeaten.
