Former Virginia Tech golfer named to President's Cup International team

Former Virginia Tech golfer Brendon de Jonge has been named to the International team for the 2013 President’s Cup.
The tournament is at Murifeld Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, from Oct. 1-6. De Jonge, who is form Zimbabwe, was one of two captain’s picks by Nick Price. Mark Leishman was Price’s other selection. They join Adam Scott, Charl Schwartzel, Jason Day, Ernie Els, Louis Oosthuizen, Hideki Matsuyama, Branden Grace, Graham DeLaet, Richard Sterne, and Angel Cabrera on the team.
The American team is made up of Tiger Woods, Brandt Snedeker, Phil Mickelson, Matt Kuchar, Jason Dufner, Keegan Bradley, Steve Stricker, Bill Haas, Hunter Mahan and Zach Johnson, along with captain’s picks Jordan Spieth and Webb Simpson. The United States captain is Fred Couples.
De Jonge is 26th on the FedEx points list. He has earned more than $1.5 million on the PGA Tour this season.
