Green is projected to be taken in the first 2 rounds. For a kid from a small town like Winchester, he's soaking it all in and is ready for his moment, no matter what team drafts him.

Former Virginia Tech guard Erick Green is officially an NBA Player.

The Winchester native was taken 46th overall in Thursday night’s draft by the Utah Jazz, and then later traded to the Denver Nuggets. The Jazz shipped Green to the Nuggets in exchange for the rights to Rudy Gobert. Green led the nation in scoring (25 points per game) during his senior season in 2012-13.

Green is the first Hokie selected in the draft since Deron Washington in 2008. He is the highest former Virginia Tech player to be taken since Bimbo Coles was drafted 40th overall in 1990 by the Sacramento Kings.

Green was one of eight former Atlantic Coast Conference players to be drafted.
