Last season was not kind to the team who averaged just four wins.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. -

Last season wasn't kind to Franklin County.

The Eagles finished 4-6 losing four of their last five and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

But Coach Chris Jones returns a strong senior class especially in the trenches on both sides of the football, and he hopes that barring any injuries, his team will be a contender.

"We've got a great returning offensive line," Coach Jones said.  "And that's the strength of our team.  And defensive line and those lineman, they know what work is."

The Eagles have six road games on the schedule this season.  They will open the season at home on August 30th against Salem.
