BUCHANAN, Va. -

The battle for the rockin' chair took center stage this week in Buchanan where the James River Knights tried to slow down a Glenvar team that put up 42 points last Friday.

James River owned the rocking chair and carried it onto the field to start the second half.

The Knights led 12-nothing but Glenvar went to the trickeration on a fake punt.  Bradley Muse took it 23 yards to the 30 yard line and the Highlanders were knocking on the door.

Jeremy Martin then took the rock on the reverse and had a wide open space on the touchdown from 9 yards out.  Glenvar trailed 12-7 in the third.

Austin Sherman then found Patrick Schulz on a button hook.  Schulz did the heavy lifting.  He spun off the tackle and got good yardage to the Glenvar 20 as the Knights tried to answer.

Two plays later it was Sherman to Trey Chilcott on the crossing pattern.  He made the sliding catch at the goal line for the TD and James River was out front 20 to 7 late in the third.

Tyler Smith cut the margin to one score again on the 2 yard run up the middle.  But the Highlanders were still playing catch up.

It was 20-all in the late going.  And Sherman stepped up to make a play again.  He ran it 15 yards down to the Highlanders two.

They got in on the next play and went up 27 to 20.  James River's defense held and the Knights kept the rocking chair by a touchdown.
