At City Stadium in Lynchburg, EC Glass was rested and ready for Liberty following an off week. The Minutemen hoped to shore up a defense that has been rather porous in recent weeks.
Glass started quickly on the 3rd play from scrimmage. Donnie Morgan was getting the call and the ball. He motored 78 yards untouched down the far sideline. The Hilltoppers were up 7 to nothing early as Liberty's defense continued to have issues.
Glass got the ball right back and was on the move again. Aaron Deane went 29 yards off the left side to the 4 yard line to set up 1st and goal.
On the next play Morgan finished the brief drive keeping it for his second score of the evening. It was 13 nothing Glass with 7:50 left in the first.
Liberty was trying to respond the early deficit when the Minutement gave it to Matthew Smith on the jet swept to the near sideline and he picked up 18 yards and a Liberty first down.
After stalling on that drive Liberty made good on its next possession as Devin Carper capped a 54 yard drive up the middle to cut the lead to 6.
But Glass too tough tonight. The Hilltoppers win it 35 to 26.
