The Cavaliers rolled past the Eagles on Friday night.

BEDFORD CO., Va. -

Lord Botetourt's unbeaten season nearly went up in smoke last Friday at William Fleming.  The Cavaliers did just enough though, remaining perfect for this week's visit to Moneta to square off with Staunton River.

Staunton River was celebrating its senior night but the Cavaliers were out to spoil the party.

The Cavaliers started things off witha huge run play by Chris Thompson. He found a hole and toted the mail down the far side getting the ball deep into Staunton River territory.

A couple of plays later, Thompson on third and long, doing his thing again.  He got to the sideline and the Eagles couldn't get him.  It was 6-nothing following a missed two point conversion.

After a three and out, Staunton River was forced to kick it away, and the Eagles should have kicked away from Bobby Staples, who fielded the punt and showed off some quicks.  He made a house call, on a 58 yard return to make it 12-nothing Cavaliers.

Thompson added his second tally of the night just a few minutes later. This time the 2 point conversion was good, and the Cavaliers led 20 to 0.

Lord Botetourt whips Staunton River 47 to 10.
