A web extra interview with Northside football coach Burt Torrence.

Northside High School fell in the regional semi-finals last season to eventual state champion Brookville, and now have vengeance on their mind this season.

Brookville has ended Northside's season three straight years in the post-season. The last time the Vikings beat the Bees was back in 2009, the same year Northside won its last state championship.

Northside has graduated four players on offense and defense but return a strong core of players who have their eyes set on a state title. Now as the season nears, it's time for new players to fit into new roles and start preparing for the challenges ahead. “Of course not you can never replace certain people,” Northside senior Ezra Waddey said. “But around here it's not really about replacing people because everyone has a job. Everyone has that job that they do around here, so if everyone around here does that job we'll be fine.

Northside opens up its season at home against Amherst County, which finished last year 9-3. The Lancers beat the Vikings to open the season last year.
