Some of the highlights from last night's NBA Draft included the Cleveland Cavaliers picking UNLV Forward Anthony Bennett as the first overall pick, a virtual no name. And then two Indiana players in Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller were picked in the top four.
As far as local interest goes, Hokie fans had to stay up almost until midnight to find-out that Tech guard, Erick Green was taken 46th overall. The Utah Jazz picked the Nation's leading scorer in the second round, but he was soon traded to the Nuggets and will head to Denver to start his professional career.
William Fleming and VCU product Troy Daniels was not drafted, however he did sign with the Charlotte Bobcats today. He will likely play in the NBA Summer league starting in a few weeks.
Also going on during craziness of last night's draft was a major trade between the Celtics and the Nets.
The deal has Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry all headed to Brooklyn. To make this go through, Garnett had to waive his no-trade clause. The trade cannot go through until July 10, but the two teams are taking all the preliminary steps to make it final after free agency begins.
As far as what Boston gets in the deal, Brooklyn has agreed to send them three first round picks, Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, and three other players.
