Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia both opened-up their fall football camps Monday, with the Cavaliers taking the field in the afternoon and the Hokies getting things going at 7:00 p.m.
Players and coaches met with the media before and after their respective practices to talk about hopes for pre-season practices as UVA prepares to host BYU in week one and Tech gears-up for Alabama.
The big news out of Tech's camp is that cornerback Antone Exum will not be ready to play in their season opener against the Crimson Tide. He had his 6 month check-up on his surgically-repaired knee, and Dr. James Andrews said he'd need nearly 2 more months of rehab. That puts his expected return date around the end of September-- right in time for ACC play. Click here to see Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer's post-practice interview.
