Lexington, Va. -

Washington and Lee edged-out Franklin and Marshall 14-13 to open the 2013 season. The Generals trailed 7-0 after the Diplomats’ opening drive, but tied things up at the half. W&L scored 14 unanswered to take a 14-7 lead into the 4th quarter, where Franklin & Marshall found the end zone with 30 seconds to play to get within one. The Diplomats went for the win, but a failed 2-point conversion put them on the losing end.

Generals Quarterback, Nick Lombardo led the team in rushing, with 86 yards on 23 carries.

Washington & Lee (1-0) returns to action on Saturday, September 21, when they travel to Centre for a 2:30 p.m. kick-off.
