Greg McClinton is about to become the newest member of a small club: Winston-Salem natives to play basketball at Wake Forest.

Its fellow members include NBA players Chris Paul and Josh Howard.

No pressure there.

He jokes that he has "been on the team for the past six years."

He's part of a three-man crop of newcomers that coach Jeff Bzdelik hopes can help the program take some more steps forward.

The coach's massive reconstruction job has produced sub-.500 records in each of his three seasons.

The 6-foot-7 forward is working his way back from surgery to repair a torn right anterior cruciate ligament in January.

He says he expects to be back in about six weeks and is five months into a six-month rehab process.
