Bath County art show brings in more than $23,000

49th annual show ends Sunday afternoon.

An annual event is in the books tonight and organizers are already looking to next year!

The 49th annual Bath County Art Show was bigger and better than ever. Nearly 300 artists submitted more than 800-paintings, drawings and sculptures. All the pieces were for sale. And, visitors weren't the only ones going away happy, artists won more than $9,000 in prizes.

Artist Susan Trotter has been doing the show for 35 years and says it continues to grow. Susan Trotter, Artist: Its worked up to this level,when I first started there were just a few paints and they would them in a little circle. You'd walk in one end, through thislittle maze and out the other side and it was just small and now look . The show is hosted by the Bath County Arts Association and raises money so children can grown an appreciation forthe arts At the start oftoday's show, the group already raised more than 23- thousand dollars.
