Upgrades to WDBJ7 texting; What you need to know

WDBJ7 is upgrading its text messaging service. That means if you want to continue receiving text alerts about severe weather, breaking news, traffic, and daily forecasts, you will need to sign up.

WHAT TEXTS CAN I RECEIVE? 

News - Get breaking news, AMBER Alerts and the daily forecast for our area.

Severe Weather Alerts - Be alerted when the National Weather Service issues an advisory or warning in our area.

Daily Weather Forecast - Know what to plan weatherwise with a text forecast sent to your phone each morning around 6 a.m.

Local Sports News & Scores - Stay up-to-date with your favorite local teams.

School Closings & Notices - be notified when your school is closed or delayed. 

WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TEXTS ANY LONGER?

A) If you don't sign up using this link (http://bit.ly/HedNOe), you will no longer receive WDBJ7 text messages starting November 1st. 

B) If you signed up for the new text messages and no longer want to receive them, follow the directions at the end of the text message on your phone.
